For too long, we have looked at charity offered to orphaned children in Africa and thought, "something is better than nothing... anything is better than nothing" But the past few decades have proven that providing the world's poorest children with basic care - bowls of rice, an unremarkable education, and rows of bunk-beds - is not merely unjust, but widely ineffective.

It's not how we raise our own children. It's not how we engender compassion, promote self-confidence, or inspire success.

It's not how build civil societies.

At Flying Kites, we start from the premise that every child can succeed. We seek to raise the standards of care available to the world's poorest children. And why not…give these children the opportunity to lead diverse lives as members of families and as citizens of their country.

Our purpose is to help them achieve their highest potential, be tolerant and understanding, respect themselves as well as others, and be responsible custodians of the environment.
