The Brittany Foundation is a no-kill facility. Our sanctuary houses nearly all of the dogs we rescue. We also provide foster homes. After a dog is rescued, we take it for a veterinary check, provide vaccinations, microchip, sterilization & teeth cleaning (if needed). We request blood panels for dogs over 8 years old or if the physical condition of the dog warrants one. We also do necessary surgeries. The dog is groomed to get rid of parasites & make the dog presentable and more adoptable. We also evaluate behaviors so that we may more accurately find the best homes for our dogs. Since we became a charity in 1994, we have placed over 1300 dogs into new homes. The Brittany Foundation focuses on quality adoptions, not quantity.
1. We rescue, rehabilitate, & provide safe shelter for homeless, abused, & abandoned dogs.
2. In particular, we rescue dogs who have a more difficult time being adopted: older dogs, handicapped dogs, & dogs deemed "unpopular," such as pit bulls
3. We educate the public on responsible dog ownership through educational materials, discussions and training.
4. We assist people with training, sterilization and other issues in order to help them keep their dog, instead of giving it up.
5. Every dollar received by the Foundation goes directly to the care of the dogs. We are a volunteer-only charity.
