Help Utah Valley University get a Center for the Arts.

Currently Utah Valley University has three builidings for which they are focusing fundraising efforts. They are looking at building a new science building, business building and arts center. Of these three, two of them already have facilities on campus, science and business. If we are not careful the arts building could get pushed back yet again.

There has been talk of an arts center on campus for the last 20 years and for one reason or another it's still not here. We need to raise the money and get the support of as many people as possible to have an opprotunity to perform and learn in a building built with the arts in mind.

1. Utah Valley University is the only school in the State of Utah that doesn't have a designated building for the arts.

2. There are four departments in the School of the Arts at UVU, and every one of them has at least one four year degree program.

3. UVU students in the music, dance, and theater programs are currently performing in a theater that seats 400 people and is constantly overbooked.

4. Most secondary schools it the State of Utah have better performing facilites than UVU.

5. The School of the Arts at UVU is currently housed with the same building as the wood and auto shops.
