This nonprofit organization stemmed from projects that its founders were undertaking at a community college in Tifton, Georgia. In 2006-2007, as part of the school's Political Science Club, their "Kenya Project" managed to raise $1,500 to benefit AIDS orphans at orphanages in the Kibera slums of Nairobi, Kenya. In May of 2007, three of the groups members traveled to Kenya to personally deliver the aid and visit with the children. For the 2007-2008, we have managed to raise more than $800, and we haven't even held a fundraiser yet!
The Kenya Project is the sole project being undertaken by the ICRO at this moment, but more projects are in the works.
Our group is powered by the tireless efforts of its few members, which number less than 10. While we maybe a new organization, we have already produced results and plan to do much more in the future.
1. All children deserve an education.
2. All children deserve basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter.
3. All children deserve medical coverage.
4. We must do what we can to help those children in need, no matter where they are.
5. We must do everything possible to better the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves.
