ORANGE COUNTY OPERA provides elementary age school children the
opportunity to experience live opera and, since its inception in 1976, this traveling troupe of singing actors has performed over 7,000 fully staged operatic excerpts to the delight of over 2 million Southern California elementary students and teachers. Each 40 minute performance is sung by a cast of professional singing artists in English, with imaginative scenery, beautiful costumes, and rich, visual humor. We are a 501(c)(3) non profit corporation, funded completely by public support, and welcome the opportunity to partner with others who would like to see opera continue as a rich and viable art form.
1. We exist to bring the world of opera to elementary age students through live performance and interactive communication.
2. We have performed over 7,500 operatic performances for nearly 2 million children during our 33 year existence.
