As the United States Partner of BirdLife International, the National Audubon Society administers the Important Bird Areas Program in the United States. Across the country over 2,500 Important Bird Areas have been identified encompassing over 370 million acres, with conservation activities and projects implemented at many of these sites.
Please join us in our efforts to protect the most important places in the United States for birds.

1. By identifying and implementing conservation at Important Bird Areas, we can minimize effects of habitat loss and degradation on birds and wildlife.
2. By activating a network of supporters in advocacy, education, and restoration, we can ensure that Important Bird Areas are properly conserved.
