Empowering the people of Nzinga to break the cycle of poverty and dependence by giving them needed opportunities to improve their own nutrition, health, education.

Isipho (i-SEE-poh) was co-founded by 14-year-old Miranda Lynch after her return from a vacation in South Africa which included one week volunteering in the small, remote village of Nzinga.
We are empowering the people there to overcome two major causes of poverty; hunger and illiteracy.
Hunger - We have partnered with Cedara College of Agriculture, and are providing villagers with the education, materials, and tools needed for them to grow enough food to provide every family there with fresh vegetables, in a self-sustainable manner within 5 years.
We have also partnered with one of the largest publishers of school books to help provide the materials needed for them to teach everyone to read. Our goal is to cut in half the number of illiterate people in Nzinga within 5 years.

2. Everyone deserves nutritious food and a good education, no matter where you're born.

3. People learn to help themselves when they are given a hand up instead of a hand-out

4. By helping one family at a time, in five years every family in iNzinga will be farming enough vegetables to feed their family year-round.
