Speaking of thinking long term...

It is our goal to open up space for mankind to ensure our long-term
survival and to encourage growth and new ideas through "branching"
the human race.

We believe the real obstacles are not technical or even financial, but
social and psychological. Therefore our focus is on education and
outreach more than science and engineering; though the latter are
essential, of course, there are other groups who stress these aspects.
We are more about the social engineering that ultimately will makes the
rocket science actually happen.

Hi Brian, I just 'rejoined' per your invite, so either some FB clitch or I clicked unjoin sometime in the past by mistake. As this was the first 'cause' I joined a few years ago I wonder what happened. All the best in 2009! 'Change is gonna come'
