EVERYTHING BURNS is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization started by members of the band SHIROCK.
In our world today there is a strong desire to "make a difference." So many people we meet talk about how they want to get involved but so often they have no idea what to do...and how they can actually make a difference.
EVERYTHING BURNS was started to help bridge the gap between the people that have a desire to get involved, and the people that need help. Since our launch in February 2009, we have formed partnerships with 13 other groups working towards solutions for the homelessness & poverty issues in their cities. Detroit, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, DC, Columbus & more. Our goal in these partnerships is to help get people involved working towards solutions. We want to give a practical "hands-on" way that someone in one of these places could get involved if they want to. No more seeing a face on a TV and wanting to do something, but not knowing where your money might go if you actually sent it in. We want to help show that 1 PERSON can make a difference in a real & practical way. We helped launch a movement in Detroit trying to get High School & College students to tutor inner-city kids. We will be working in the coming months to raise money for school supplies for kids whose families cannot afford them.
In addition to this, we are also working alongside Compassion in the "Bite Back" Campaign. $10 can keep a kid from getting Malaria - the disease spread by simple mosquito bites.
These are a few examples of how EVERYTHING BURNS is working to create & facilitate a "movement of people living for things that matter."
EVERYTHING BURNS is a lifestyle. A conscious choice to not let ourselves become blinded and overwhelmed with what our world deems to be important. We're not about materialism - rather we're about making sure that it's what WE DO that defines us...not what we have.
