Animal Rescue Fund - Jackson, MS

ARF is a fairly new 501c3 organization, founded in 2005 by Elizabeth (Pippa) Jackson. However, Pippa has been rescuing animals all her life, and the formation of ARF as an official non profit group was the result of a life-long dream. She has chased frightened dogs down busy freeways, nearly been shot at as she tried to rescue a stray off the property of a man trying to shoot him, plucked kittens out of garbage bins, and always travels with a crate and a spare lead.

Odds are, if you are a friend of Pippa, you've got at least one dog or cat she's rescued in your home.

ARF depends on the contributions of friends, neighbors, local vets, and pretty much anybody else we can charm. ARF also works directly with wonderful volunteers and other rescue groups, such as CARA (Community Animal Rescue Association),Jackson Friends of the Animal Shelter, Dr.'s Gail and Jim Anderson - vets who truly care about all animals, Good Sam - run by an employee (Cathy) of one of the vets with a heart of gold, Dr. Troy Majure, and with "In Defense Of Animals" (http://www.idausa.org/), a top-notch rescue organization - please check them out!

When ARF takes in a rescued stray animal, that animal receives any and all necessary medical care, heartworm tests and medication, spay or neuter, and then the hunt is on to find that animal it's "forever home". We work carefully with potential adoptive families to ensure that the animal you adopt is the one that will best fit into your family and lifestyle.

We now have a PayPal account through which we can accept donations, which we desperately need,and being a 501c3 non profit, any donation made will be a tax deduction for you Additionally, we also would love to have things like left over heartworm preventative and or flea preventative,used crates, blankets, and basically anything you have to spare. We appreciate each and every donation, and assure you that it goes directly towards the care of our animals.
