Beyond Ex-Gay (bXg) is an on-line community and resource for those of us LGBT people who have survived ex-gay experiences. So often healing comes through community and through sharing our stories and experiences with each other.
Our kinship in this journey gives us the opportunity to hear each other deeply, particularly in a world that sometimes scoffs at the many things we have done to change or contain our same-sex attractions and gender differences. Many of us have found healing, wholeness and understanding through facing our pasts. Now we can begin to embrace our same-sex sexual orientation and get beyond the ex-gay experience.
In 2007 along with Soulforce and the LGBT Resource Center at UC Irvine, we sponsored the first ever Ex-Gay Survivor Conference.
bXg is also for those who love ex-gay survivors. Often you have had to watch the pain from the sidelines and your role can prove vital in the recovery process.

1. Ex-gay experiences cause more harm than good.
2. We don’t seek to invalidate people who identify as ex-gay. For us such a lifestyle was not possible or healthy.
3. Recovery comes for us as we unpack our stories and support each other.
4. There is NOTHING wrong with being lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer!
