With your help, 2011 has been a year of exciting milestones and accomplishments for autoimmunity research.  We have surpassed the $2 million mark in funding of autoimmune disease research.  We have increased public awareness, through a cutting edge awareness campaign during National Autoimmune Awareness Month around the theme “We are 50 Million,” telling the stories of the millions of patients living with autoimmune disease.  Your support enabled us to raise the bar with patient education, expanding the “What Every American Needs to Know About Autoimmune Diseases” public forums to a full-day program reaching several cities around the U.S.

Looking forward to the coming year, here’s a sneak peek at some of the exciting things we have in store:

* Launching our multi-city autoimmune disease walks!  Families can come together under one banner in support of a disease category often affecting multiple generations within the same family.
* Developing Spanish-language patient education materials.
* Expanding the online patient education institute.
* Launching our long awaited risk/benefit tools to assist patients with the decision-making process involved when faced with a frightening new treatment decision.

Can we count on your continued support?  Be assured that your contribution, no matter the amount, is always treated with respect and regard – and put to work for the purpose for which intended.  This is exemplified in the fact that 93 percent of every dollar you give is spent in support of autoimmune research, awareness, and/or education.
