Autism affects everyone. 1 in 150 children have this developmental disorder. Every 20 minutes another child is diagnosed. It is vital to our society to help people with this life long developmental disorder. Often people with autism are discrimated against and abused because people lack the basic understanding of this disorder and related disorders like Asperger's Syndrome. If people were to only take the time to learn a little about autism and Asperger Syndrome the world would be a better place.
1. One in 150 children is diagnosed with autism. For all the children and families affected by this disorder, including my son Collin.
2. Asperger's Syndrome (AS) occupies the higher functioning end of the autism spectrum.
