I Care I Cure supports the development of, and raises awareness about, cutting edge therapies for childhood cancer, so that the treatment of childhood cancer will be gentler and more tolerable.
I Care I Cure is a non-profit organization created by Beth and Brad Besner in memory of their son, Ian, who died at age 11 from complications related to treatments for Leukemia. Having witnessed their child suffer, the Besners hope to spare other children and their parents that agony. Support for I Care I Cure will lead to important discoveries for ALL of our children. Cures for childhood cancer have not improved in more than a decade -- the status quo is unacceptable. This is an issue for everyone who loves a child.
1. Childhood Cancer can strike anyone at any time. It matters to all parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents that we limit the suffering our kids endure.
2. I Care I Cure wants to challenge the societal view that the treatment of childhood cancer must entail great pain and result in lonliness and isolation
