Western Sustainability Exchange (formerly Corporation for the Northern Rockies) inspires thousands of people each year to use the power of their everyday choices to preserve the landscape and quality of life of the Northern Rocky Mountain West by using sustainable practices.

In 2009, we are expanding our programs to triple the number of people we reach, generate an additional $100,000 in sales for sustainable producers, and preserve and additional 100,000 acres of land through sustainable management and production practices.

WSE is seeking partnership with people who share our vision and commitment to this remarkable region.

We invite you to become part of the exciting journey to sustainability.

What is Sustainability?
Sustainability is . . .
~ Meeting present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own.
~ Recognizing our relationship to the world around us and our responsibility to future generations.
~ Making conscious choices that sustain the quality of our region's landscape and way of life.

Western Sustainability Exchange believes there are three essential elements to sustainability that must be pursued as inseparable goals:
~ economic prosperity
~ environmental stewardship
~ strong and health communities

1. WSE has protected over 570,000 acres of grassland, riparian areas, wildlife habitat and open space with sustainable agricultural practices.

2. WSE had rewarded stewardship by generating over $500,000 in sales in 2008 for sustainable producers.

3. WSE has developed the leading Sustainability Criteria that is being used as a basis for other organizations.

4. WSE operates the Livingston Farmers' Market, which generates over $100,000 for vendors from a 20 county area.
