I hope that I'm getting my info correct, lol does Peter Garrett support saving wildlife or has he changed his tune? it just seems that way but what I've read, again I might be mistaken, I believe I signed the petition
I was impressed by Peter Garrett's outrage at the mother and calf (whale) photos on the TV when he was new to the job. I have not seen him stick his neck out since but I'm sure he has some balls left (that have not been sucked dry by Rudd! Yuh...) Come on Peter show some balls, let your hair down and get your anti whaling T-shirt on!
Time to use some of that power and passion and pressure your fellow politicians to follow through on this matter, Peter.

"Whaling is an outrageously inhumane practice. I care, not for the whalers that have chosen this profession, but for the whales who DIDNT choose to be slaughtered. Who cares if the Japanese are embarrassed? If they are being embarrassed, that is only further reason for us to continue our cause, as that proves that they are aware that what they are doing is wrong! Embarrass the hell outta them all, until they stop!!!!!"
Mr Garrett is only one man, and i suspect that he is finding out first hand just how disillusioning and degrading machine politics truly is.
When power corrupts, it corrupts absolutely. Gotta love politics. Welcome to the Dark Side of the Force Peter.

Mr Garrett has had sufficent time in place to come forth with the minimum of his promises.
Unsure really weather its the prowess of being in his position - remember - the peoples choice put him there - or if his passion really lies with the environment.
Perhaps a mix, though now he is a puppet of the labour gov, and achieving less.
Remember back in the 80's when Midnight Oil and there following, actually put pressure on the government?
