The first round of instructor emails have gone out. If we don't hear back from everyone, we'll select several additional candidates.
It made for a notable sigh of relief, like walking from a loud party into a quiet room- and within seconds of realizing there were actually people on facebook capable of speaking english, spelling, and reasonable grammer. I can't promise I can be of much service as of right now, but am certainly interested in observing what has begun here.
We're hiring creative, intelligent, and inspiring people to teach our courses going forward. See http://www.projectpolymath.org/teach.... for details and to apply.

I have a great fascination with learning new things. I crave information and knowledge all the time, it's like a drug to me. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you.
The band Renaissance should get together again and help us. That would be interesting. Also, I'm in on this.
When I read about polymath, I thought of Singularity University, which had its inaugural summer this year:
FYI, just so you know what else is going on out there: http://singularityu.org/
Good news! We were recently accepted into the Google Grants program, which provides us with a significant quantity of free AdWords advertising. This will allow us to expand our online marketing efforts considerably, and thus enable us to reach out to more prospective students, instructors, and contributors. This ultimately accelerates the pace of the entire effort!
Growth has been phenomenal since we hit 500 members. Great job everyone, and welcome to everyone just discovering our cause! :)
Updated: The cause has raised $500.
