The In a Perfect World school in Mali, West Africa is now successfully built & 155 students in the Village of Bougoulaba are enjoying it! Its now time to turn our attention to Haiti and to help bring much-needed education to the children there.

In a Perfect World is pledging to build at least 2 schools in Haiti in the near term. We have partnered with buildOn, whose 14 existing schools in Les Cayes are now being used as emergency shelters & make-shift medical clinics to support the many injured and displaced people from Port au Prince. Many children are not going to school as a result.

Before the earthquake, only 49% of Haitian children attended elementary school. Since 80% of Haitians live on less than $2/day & 50% of Haitians live on less than $1/day, education is simply not a priority. Help In a Perfect World take the lead in building schools for Haitians who do not have safe and adequate places to learn.
