About Girls Inc. of NYC: Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold!

Girls Incorporated of New York City is serving approximately 2,500 girls and families in the 2008-09 program year. By partnering with schools, libraries, community based
organizations, and city agencies, we changes girls’ lives.

Our comprehensive approach to gender-based programming and leadership development includes the topics that are so essential to girls’ well-being, including:

● Economic literacy
● Media literacy
● Health
● Career exploration
● Sexuality
● Sports
● Violence prevention
● Self-defense
● Drug abuse prevention

Through professional development and staff training, Girls Inc. of NYC also teaches organizations throughout New York City how to create and strengthen programs for girls.
