Santee Cooper is South Carolina's state-owned electric and water utility. State-owned. We can stop this. Coal is the fuel of the past. Let's spend our money and time on research into alternative methods.
As someone that just tested very high for Mercury Toxicity I definitely think this is necessary. The Santee river basin (which includes from Piedmont to Charleston) ALREADY has the highest concentration of Methyl-Mercury in the COUNTRY! In addition to that the air quality in Charleston has already received an F by the lung association. Mercury can be absorbed not only through the intake of fish from polluted waters but also through the air.
