AUTISM SPEAKS INC Petition

Health Care “Reform” That Fails to Stop Autism Insurance Discrimination is Unacceptable

195,404 signatures

About this Petition:

Autism insurance reform can and should be included in the final health care reform bill that President Obama has stated he will sign by the end of October. This is the time to end autism insurance discrimination once and for all. Our children have a medical condition which deserves appropriate treatment, therapy and care. Congress needs to know that health care “reform” that fails to stop autism insurance discrimination is unacceptable.

I'm 100% in support of Autism being required to be covered by all insurance, but I can not in good conscious support the Presidents Health Care Bill and hope it does not pass the Senate. I'm sorry if this anger you all, but I have to stick to my guns and what I believe in. I can not and will not support any Government run insurance regardless of what it does cover. I hope another way to get private Insurance companies to cover Autism is found.

Ohio House Bill 8 (HB8) is headed to the floor for a vote-- if it passes, autism will not be a deniable "pre-existing condition" and people with autism will be able to buy insurance! PLEASE CONTACT YOUR OHIO STATE REPRESENTATIVE AND TELL THEM TO VOTE "YES!" ON THIS VERY IMPORTANT BILL-- HB8. This is an Ohio issue-- please let me know if you need info on how to contact your State Rep.
