To address the increasing HIV rates among young women of color 13-24, through building partnerships with individuals and organizations that serve and empower adolescents.
The YWCHAC was first convened in December 2005, in response to the steadily increasing HIV rates among Black and Latino youth in NYC.
1. • Provide opportunities for mentorship to and from young women.
2. • Provide access to information, education opportunities for young women and service providers.
3. Expand the support network of youth.
4. • Foster leaderships among all coalition members through coalition activities.
