MYA also clearly realizes the need to promote an integrated curriculum and a comprehensive program of Islamic Studies which is essential at all academic levels.
The goals of the Muslim Community and MYA in general are similar to the "basic goals" expected by most communities across the country, but it has a greater responsibility to provide Islamic education which is an application of academics to a "complete and perfect way of life". This responsibility is one that is ordained by Allah SWT. He commands the Believers to save themselves and their families from the fire. The Holy Qur'an says:
Oh you who believe! Save yourselves and your families from the Fire. (66:6)
Our Muslim Community, in particular, Muslim Parents, will be held responsible on the Day of Judgment for neglecting to educate their families about Islam. The responsibility is indisputable that we must help our youth develop an Islamic personality whereas they can manifest the Pure Islamic Teachings as revealed in the Holy Qur'an and as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad, Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him.
Allah says in the Qur'an about Prophet Muhammad SAW:
Verily in the Messenger of Allah, you have a good example for him who looks unto Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much. (Surah 33:2)
MYA wants to encourage Islamic values by instilling them in our Student's minds and hearts in order that they may act as an anchor to prevent them from becoming victims of discordant tendencies that lead individuals away from the tenants of Islam.
Muslim Communities must make every effort to meet this educational responsibility.
We hope, InshaAllah to provide a comprehensive Islamic program of education. We also hope, InshaAllah, to fulfill our goals towards proper Aqeedah and Ibadah for the Sake of Allah.
