My elderly friend on fixed income , whose husband has dementia, gave a wonderful home to a little dog that I had rescued and couldn't find the owner. My elderly friend on fixed income , whose husband has dementia, gave a wonderful home to a little dog that I had rescued and couldn't find the owner. This wonderful dog is now 8 years old, diabetic, and has Cushings disease, had cataracts in both eyes and was blind. My friend, her owner, was devastated. I was still working part time so I offered to finance the surgery. I had some of it saved but it turned out to be very expensive (4300.00) and I am still paying on my credit card, now the dog had developed high pressure in her right eye (glaucoma) and is blind in it and in a lot of pain. The specialist at the office where she had her surgery recommended the eye to be removed.. Now I am retired on Social Security and neither the owner or I can afford to have the eye removed. How can I go about getting some help for my friend's little dog? My friend is in her 80's with a retired disabled husband.
