some facinating info on how our brains use fatty acids. http://www.fi.edu/learn/brain/fats.html
This article has no mention of hemp seeds, which is a pity because they are right in line with our needs.
Now we ought not get too low in fat. Brains cells need fats in order to talk to one another. Fats are essential to our physiology and the Good fats our bodies need are adequately represented in yummy hempseed oil. Let's get some canadians on board too! Hemp oil Canada can supply Hempseed oil for Pesto sauce, salad dressings etc for brain-supportive nutrients. Omega 3s- 9 all have important metabolic roles in the body and are shown to support mental clarity and help address ADHD and depression. A lot of kids can benefit from this hemp product! And George Washington wants to see more state support for hemp farming like the good ol' days
KEEP TAKING ACTION, ASK YOUR REP IN CONGRESS to CO_SPONSOR HR 1866, the industrial hemp farming act of 2009

Just want to let all you guys know we did a taste test in our elementary school today. We had cantelope, pineapple and kiwi for the kids to try . They loved it and came back for seconds and thirds. It was very well received by the students. We also did a survey to see which one they liked best and we will will incorporate them into the lunch program. Tomorrow will be veggies then healthy snacks.
Peace
Many of the children I work with have no idea that meat comes from animals! We need to educate these children about what they are putting into their bodies and how it affects their health.
OK Guys ! Time for reality check ! Those fruits come from the EARTH those VEGETABLES come from the EARTH. There are so many schools across America changing lunch menus right now as we speak! Have you ever heard of Farm to School ? Where the food comes directly from the farm?
Maybe your definition of health is warped. Maybe the PICKY eaters are eating for their health ! There are gluten free menus ,as well as dairy and meat free. It is proven fact that vegetarian diets are way more healthy than meat diets. Why do you want to eat IRRADIATED,DYED<DEAD ORGANIC MATTER . It takes tripple the amount of time to go through the digestive system and putrefies in there !
I think you all need an education on food !
Peace
Your definition of picky eaters probably also includes those with medical conditions preventing them from eating certain foods, many of which are extremely prevalent among school lunches. I know people who can't eat bread or any other bread-like products, and are home schooled because they would never be able to eat at school. Some people have religious beliefs that eating certain foods (whether it be specific meats, such as in Judaism and Hinduism, or even at certain times of the year, such as Catholics on Fridays during Lent or Jews not eating risen bread during Passover. You may consider vegetarians "picky", but there are many others who are effected by school lunch quality that have less of a choice in the matter.
May I also add that many people don't have time to pack lunch. And I'm still not getting that picky eaters thing. Because of my schools horrible meat, I'm a SCHOOL vegetarian.
In our little town, we have a project in which all 4 of the elementary, both junior highs and the high school are planting a vegetable garden. The curriculum is being adjusted to utilize this as a basis for teaching science, math as well as agriculture. The products of the gardens are also going to be incorporated in the school lunches. What a wonderful way to teach kids to be healthy, sustainable and to be invested in what they eat! Pass it on!
