About Haiti Earthquake Relief Campaign

Provide Haitians with clean, safe water

In Port-au-Prince, Haiti, we are installing the first practical systems for chlorinating city water supplies in developing countries. Since May 2006, we have installed more than 100 chlorinators on neighborhood water tanks in Haiti's capital, protecting the water supply for some 400,000 people.
With your help, we shall add chlorinators to protect 200,000 more Haitians in 2009. At the end of five years, we shall have installed 500 chlorinators covering the entire population of the Port-au-Prince.

1. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere

2. Every water source is contaminated with disease and human waste. That same water is used for drinking, cooking and washing.

3. The result: the highest infant mortality rate in the Western Hemisphere, and the spreading of diseases such as cholera, typhoid, chronic diarrhea.

4. In the aftermath of the destruction caused by 4 hurricanes, the situation has become critical.

5. Please tell your friends about this cause and help International Action provide clean water to the Haitian population. www.haitiwater.org
