Last week was a very exciting time for our nation, so it seems appropriate to begin this week with amazing news for our Movement: the official launch of our BE GREAT brand campaign. And what an auspicious debut it is – a huge block-long billboard at the "crossroads of America", Times Square! (See the attached photo, taken Friday.)
Not only does this spectacular display call attention to our best-known alumni success story, Denzel Washington... it also launches a special area on our Web site, at the address BeGreatAmerica.org. This is a call to action to our nation, to support our Clubs and our kids, especially during these tough economic times. Getting this message out aggressively, and helping our Clubs generate awareness and support, is more critical than ever.
The outdoor display also promotes our 11-year partnership with Major League Baseball, who has done so much to support our brand year-in and year-out.
This is just the beginning. The BE GREAT campaign will appear on billboards, bus shelters, taxis, and in malls and airports, all across the country. The reaction from local outdoor companies has been nothing short of extraordinary as we have already received orders from more than 100 markets. Clubs will be able to localize the boards, as well as create their own with local alumni, as the campaign unfolds.
