To Provide Organized Sporting Opportunities for both Girls and Boys in Rural Africa
Ball for All has operated in Senegal for over 4 years. It works with existing organizational bodies like the School Directors' Association of Toubacouta in Senegal to fund and organize soccer competitions that take place over the course of months. Girls' soccer, which was once absent in the region, is now a formal part of the region's education curriculum. We include sports as part of a comprehensive education - something most children in rural Africa have never had. This is especially important for girls - Ball for All's focus - who are learning to assert themselves as independent and capable individuals.
This past year, there were over 27 girls' and boys' team in the tournament we sponsored with more than 500 players involved.
Scholarships are also given to tournament participants that successfully complete elementary school and enter into middle school.
Ball for All was founded by two Peace Corps volunteers and continues in this tradition of service by being run by volunteers. All of your donations go directly to our programs.
