Educate others about the truth behind abortion. Learn More
I read the Opinion of the Court of Roe v Wade a year ago, and was impressed by how illogical Justice Blackmun was. I wrote down some notes on errors I saw in the opinion, and then I read Justice Rehnquist's Dissenting Opinion, and found that there were even more.
You should all read these, and write to your Congress members about them.
Note that email is the least effective way to catch their attention. A secretary might glance over it, add a tally mark to a list, and then show the list to the member of Congress. Letters on paper and phone calls are much more effective.

Its wrong to end a baby life I have cousins who had babies before me and got their degree never in their life did they wan't a abortion. Its wrong its hurtful Im a child of God. Stop the abuse I don't care what doctor's say if I was around one I fuss at them for saying keep abortion I think it should be stopped for good. I have a deep reason why but Im not gonna tell let's just say God loves me. Im excited and never in my wildest dream would I get rid of a baby its so precious it deserve's to live.
Roy and Sarah, I see where your coming from. You want to make sure that we succeed in convincing people that abortion is morally wrong and I want that too. But as a follower of Christ, ive come to realize that we cannot separate morality from God. There is no other objective source that we can use to judge the good or bad in things. Without God, we are left with the relative definition of morality that allowed pro-choicers to rationalize what they do as right for themselves in the first place. And I agreer with Roy when he says we can live moral lives without organized religion, but the only source of good and truth that has ever existed is Christ.
So yes, we need to expand beyond "holier than thou" religious arguments, but we need to connect with people's innate knowledge that there has to be a right and a wrong, and that its not really up to them to decide. So I say preach on, but in a way that lets the Holy Spirit do the convicting for us.
Roy, I agree. I'm Catholic, and a lot of prolife activity I do is connected to my faith, but it is so true that both sides on the abortion debate do many terrible things. And in order to get this law changed, we can't be coming only from a religious perspective, we need to prove that abortion is objectively morally wrong and not just wrong because a church says so.
Until I had my little girl, I have to admit, I was pro-choice. As a man, I felt it was none of my business what a woman did to her body. But even now, considering myself pro-life, I fear this war is going to be lost for the wrong reasons.
I don't know how many times people tried to preach their side of this issue to me, to have me completely disregard them because of how they went about it. The shock campaigns have got to stop, and the fanatical Christians need to cut it back a notch. It's really hard to take any of this seriously with the completely evil things some people do in the process of preaching this issue.
This doesn't have to be about religion and God, it can simply be about morals. One can live morally without organized religion. Sometimes I wonder if these people are lobbying for these babies or if they are lobbying for favor with their "God".
But anyway, anybody who is pro-choice, have a baby of your own, and look into her beautiful eyes and tell yourself it was ok to never give her a chance. Because regardless of the situation, with maybe the exception of health reason, babies are beautiful.
