Grand Street Settlement

Since its founding in 1916, Grand Street Settlement has provided a broad array of programs and services for the benefit of the diverse and primarily poor residents of the Lower East Side, from infants to the very elderly. Services include educational assistance and enrichment; physical and mental healthcare; nutritious meals; recreation and socialization; and cost-free and confidential Single Stop support, a program that provides a pro-bono attorney and/or social services counselor to help constituents resolve legal and tax problems, obtain entitlements and benefits, and provide assistance with housing, financial, and childcare concerns. All programs and services are geared to helping area residents overcome challenging circumstances on behalf of building productive lives and rewarding futures. The agency's comprehensive array of Early Childhood, Youth, and Senior programs assists more than 10,000 area residents. The Settlement's programs are run by seasoned, multi-lingual professionals whose leadership qualifications include advanced educational degrees, professional experience, and dedication to fulfilling the needs of Grand Street's constituents.
