This 20 year old Female is a national of Trinidad & Tobago (Caribbean Islands). She has been missing since Tuesday 16th December 2008.
It is believed that she was abducted somewhere in the busy city / borough of Chaguanas, Trinidad as her last contact with relatives confirms that she boarded a taxi to her hometown but never got there.
Two day after her abduction after placing several calls to her cellphone, her abductors eventually answered and in a very short conversation indicated that if the family wants her back the price is TT$300,000.00 (approximately US$50,000.00).
The family was led to believe that it was a kidnapping for ransom. However the abductors did not call nor answer calls for a follow up on their demand.
Since then no one has heard from her and all attempts to contact her has failed. Even pleas for her via the local media proved futile and all leads that the Police were working on has come up empty handed.
The possibility now exsists that she may have abducted to be Trafficked to another country.
To our astonishment, the Minister of National Security of Trinidad and Tobago has recently revealed in his cabinet statement that there is evidence to suggest the existence of a Human Trafficking Ring in operation in this country.
Absurdly however, he has indicated that the intelligence gathered reveals that persons are being Trafficked In but not Trafficked Out of the country. (mainly Latin American women for the purpose of prostitution)
Yet to date (Feb 2009) the minister has admitted that 173 citizens, over the past two years, remain unaccounted for.
Whether or not this is the case with Riana Parag Human Trafficking should be STOPPED.
