Updated: The cause has reached 2,500 members.
My grandmother was diagnosed with COPD roughly 2 years ago and today she is actively dieing. Let's do something about this so we can put an end to COPD. I love you Grandma and I always will.
My name is Amanda, I watched my grandfather battle copd for 6 years, he passed 12 years ago at the age of 81. Yes he did have a fullfilled life. With sadness and grief I am now watching my young mom 58 years old fighting the same battle, now for 5 years. The past 2 years she has been in the hospital on life support 2 times, the last time was for 2 LONG weeks less than 1 year ago. After she came through with 4 months of rehabilitation, having to retire from a very successfull career, and struggling through each day on 5 liters of oxygen full time, and constant prednisone and several other pills several times dailey. It is a struggle everyday for her and for myself and all of our family. I spend hours on-line researching cures for COPD, and guess what there is not one. It is a constant wait in fear each time the phone rings. Please donate anything you can to help with the research for other young helpless lives that have this awful disease.
I was diagnosed in 2008 I am on oxygen 24/7. Had to quit my job as I was security at a high school and could not carry oxygen. Have applied for disability and been turned down, have filed an apeal, have my fingers crossed.
