Recent Cause Activity
This is a very important cause. The arts are an integral to the human spirit. It is not just an external thing that has been created. It is part of who we, as human beings be. And the tie in to critical thinking is, well, critical with regard to drawing out our children's ability to know how to think (to make better choices) as opposed to what to think (no choice at all), I was immediately drawn to this cause as something about it seemed so familiar. After reading some of the press releases I saw that Shawn Banks was involved. If this is the same brother, Shawn and I worked together years ago on a project using music to improve comminications among pre-teen adolescent males at risk. If this is the same Brother Shawn it would be great to hear from you. In any case, I applaud this most important cause. Having said that, I would like to invite all who might be interested to participate in The Conversation Project. The purpose of the project is to expand the conversation on race in America beyond the talking heads with quality discussion among everyday people - this to help shift the culture to a more tolerant and positive one for us all. PAPT... What a wonderful way to spend the Saturday morning. In Shake, Rattle & Roll you learn about the world in arts. It amazes me to know how much everyone is into the arts. It doesn't matter where you are in the world, everyone loves the arts whether it is dancing, singing, painting, playing instruments, acting, etc. Watching the children interact with one another, having a blast and appreciating the different styles of movement and drumming is a beautiful thing to see. PAPT is truly a great program.

PAPT has had such a phenomenal effect on our family. The amazing Shake, Rattle, and Roll Program allowed my daughter to get hands-on experience with a variety of musical instruments, supported musical expression and the creative spirit, and, most importantly, provided opportunities for our entire family to engage in an enjoyable and educational activity. Eight Million Stories is also exceptional -- watching children create and tell their stories, engage in imaginative play, and develop critical thinking and literacy skills in such a dynamic way is especially heartening. PAPT fosters a multicultural community of thinkers, learners, and doers of all ages; we're honoured to be a part of it!

Suffice it to say, this is a cause i've taken on as near & dear to me. A muscian in my head, I always wonder who i might have been had i had the resources and support during my most formative years. As a spoken word/performance artist later in life, art drew me into coversations which promoted my own personal growth & transformation as well as built relationships & fostering community. Thanks to all my facebook friends who are help PAPT in assiting parents in taking larger roles development of their children... that they may better express themselves and have greater facility & access to the the world outside their window.
