More Shoes for Bush
We stand in solidarity with Iraqi journalist Muntader al-Zaidi, who threw his shoes at President Bush, saying "This is for the widows and orphans and all those killed in Iraq."

When President Bush made a surprise visit to Iraq this weekend, he received an unexpected surprise as well. Iraqi journalist Muntader al-Zaidi hurled his shoes at the President while he spoke at a press conference to discuss the war. The journalist is quoted as saying, "This is a gift from the Iraqis. This is the farewell kiss, you dog." As he threw the second shoe, he said, "This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq." He is currently being held by Iraqi police. Yasin Majeed, the prime minister's media advisor, said al-Zaidi will be tried on charges of insulting the state. We are standing in solidarity with Al-Zaidi and asking for his release without charge.
