About NextStep Fitness®:
NextStep Fitness, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, brings the latest in fitness, health, and wellness to individuals living with paralysis and other physical disabilities. NextStep Fitness is a state-of-the-art, community-based fitness facility that brings cutting edge training methods, procedures, and technologies to rehabilitation for spinal injury, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and traumatic brain injury victims. Our mission is to provide the very best fitness facilities designed specifically for the physically challenged at the most affordable cost. NextStep Fitness is focused on incorporating locomotor training on a treadmill and over ground, electrical stimulation with cycling, cardiovascular exercise and strength training into a complete fitness and wellness program. NextStep Fitness is a member of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation's NeuroRecovery Network (NRN) Community Fitness and Wellness (CFW) Program.
The NRN Community Fitness and Wellness program provides support for the development of specialized exercise facilities for individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) and other physical disabilities. The CFW facilities are part of the Reeve Foundation’s NeuroRecovery Network umbrella, a cooperative network of seven cutting-edge clinical rehabilitation centers designed to provide and develop therapies to promote improved function, health and quality of life of people living with paralysis.
