Mariposa's Art provides after-school programs and community workshops that use the arts as a tool to develop leadership skills, address key health issues, and promote academic success.
Mariposa’s Art was founded in July of 1998 to provide after-school art and music programs to students in need of healthy alternatives to gangs, drugs, and other high-risk behaviors.
We work with a majority of migrant youth and English Language learners, and serve schools with limited or no funding to support an arts education during the regular school day.
The key to our programs' success is the ability to integrate the exploratory power of creating visual art, dance, and music into our unique curriculum designed to support each student in making positive life choices.
1. During our past 12 years of service, Mariposa's Art has served more than 12,000 at-risk youth empowering them with self-confidence and future goals.
2. This school year, Mariposa's Art is providing 2,200 at-risk youth living in Santa Cruz County after-school programming.
