Rhode Island Patient Advocacy Coalition (RIPAC) is Rhode Island's non-profit grassroots medical marijuana community. Patients, caregivers, doctors, nurses, health care providers, advocates, lawyers, organizations, and residents are invited to join our coalition. Please visit www.RIpatients.org for more information. RIPAC holds monthly Community Meetings open to the general public where everyone can discuss medical marijuana, and monthly Patient Meetings where licensed patients and their caregivers can more intimately discuss this issue.
1. Seriously ill Rhode Islanders whose doctors recommend that they use medical marijuana should have safe access to this medicine.
2. Patients, their caregivers, and their physicians should never face any criminal penalties for using, providing, or recommending medical marijuana.
3. Patients should never be forced to seek medical marijuana on the dangerous and potentially violent black market.
4. Patients should have safe access to medical marijuana through independent non-profit compassion centers, licensed and regulated by the state.
5. Doctors, nurses, law enforcement officers, and lawyers should be educated about the legal implications of the 2006 RI Medical Marijuana Act.
