There is nothing like a newspaper! Waking up and reading your local news, seeing the highlights and knowing what happened keeps you connected with your community. Priceless. Online reading is not the same...You don't get the ink stains on your fingers, the crumpling sounds, not down time to enjoy the moment.

Buying and reading a newspaper everyday has always been a relaxing part of my day..even before I started working for one. Traveling and buying the local paper gives you a snap shot of the soul of the area.

I don't know -- the best minds in the business had 20 years to figure out what to do about classified advertising migrating to the Internet and they couldn't figure it out. What do we really think a cause on Facebook is going to be able to do?

I do it all, watch tv news, check online and read the newspaper. One of the major advantages of the paper to me, is that you can sit down and enjoy your paper whenever you choose. There is a lot of information that is interesting and important that isn't going to make the 6:00 news or the Web.

Let 'em die. I'm a retired newspaper reporter/photographer/editor, and I see absolutely no use for print any more. I've embraced technology. Web is the way to go. Save trees, kill newspapers. The only people who really lose out are the publishing companies, and I have no love for them.

They say that the newsp. that WILL survive are the small town ones, the "community" ones, but even my small town newsp. has cut back. People just arent buying newsp. even if it means missing out on what's happening in your small town. It just doesnt make sense to me.??! Some say it's the hard times, but how much you want to bet that people dont "re-subscribe"?

The political system has never liked journalism. Maybe that's why if we have established many schools of journalism. Today you learn to pass on information, not to distinguish propaganda causes of public interest. Therefore, if the communication is to die (I do not believe) is because someone very interested in the annihilation is working harder than the pragmatism of the citizens. Open your eyes. No newspapers, no media will never know what happened to us. And when we know, it's too late. We return to the Middle Ages, the darkness, totalitarianism, fascism. We lost the last chance to defend ourselves, we as a collective, as a people. Journalism is the last instrument capable of defending the truth. Everything else is corruptible.

O sistema politico nunca gostou do jornalismo.
