It is ABSOLUTLEY NECESSARY for blind children to have an education, but per say they're own school no. The only reason we have at least one in every 50 of the United States is because it is the law. Wisconsin's isn't pretty, but it works well and effiecently. As long as these children get education that is adapted to their special needs, and it is working in these public education systems fine. But if it is not then yes obviously something needs to be done. These children will grow up to depend on others and in some cases fend for themselves all over the world, in school they are at least they are learing how to read and communicate by themselves, have some mobility to the point that they can get around fine on there own without causing harm to themselves or others. The point is that it is necessary to have a special school that will help them learn these things and get the adaptations that are needed for them that public education would not otherwise be required to provide by law or effort.
