Today I am thankful for Novartis' miracle drug Gleevec. My brother's GIST tumor has shrunk from 13 centimeters to 4.5 centimeters in two month. He is thriving and glowing and back to work, even. Five years ago would have meant surgery, and chemo and perhaps worse. His oncologist was giddy at his checkup showing him the CATscan. Amazing. ♥
HI, MY STORY IS A LONG ONE.I AM NOW INTO MY TENTH YEAR WITH GIST. I WAS DIG IN 1999 AT 49 AND AND NOW WORKING ON BEING 60. YES WOW. I INJOY LIFE TO THE FULLEST AS U NEVER KNOW WITH GIST WHAT WILL HAPPEN. I AM STABLE AND DOING WELL. I GO TO FOXCHASE EVERY THREE MONTHS FOR CATSCANS AND BLOOD WORK, I AM ON GLEEVEC AND TAKE 6OO MLG.EACH DAY. I DIDNT PLAN ON SEEING ANYMORE GRANDCHILDREN BUT I HAVE SEEN FOUR MORE BORN SINCE 1999 ANDTHATS A BLESSING. PLEASE HELP US FIND A CURE, THERE WILL BE A GIST BALL IN JANUARY AT THE MANSION ON MAINSTREET IN VOORHEES/ DATE JANUARY 30TH 2010. 600PM TO 11.00PM. PLEASE HELP US FIGHT THIS CANCER AND FIND A CURE CASS ROBERTS

On Wednesday, April 29, 2009 there will be the first fundraiser at the Riverview Restaurant in Oakdale to help raise funds for this GIST. The cost is only $35 per person and will include a wonderful buffet dinner with unlimited draft beer, wine and soft drinks. There will also be a Chinese auction with many great gifts baskets and a 50/50 raffle.
Please ask your friends and family to join us for a night of good food, spirits and fun. If you are unable to attend, your donation in any amount will be greatly appreciated.

What an amazing night! We would like to say thank you to all those who helped make last night such an AMAZING success. The staff, catererers, dealers, photographer (Thanks Kim!) and volunteers worked together to pull off the poker event of the year.
