Please help us help the GIST Patients....those who suffer with a rare type of cancer of the Gastro-Instential Tract. Right now there is only one medication that can make a difference between life and death....and it doesn't hold any guarantees for those who take it ....it doesn't always work and may lose effectiveness over time....GIST is one of those rare and "overlooked" cancers that needs much more attention....it needs the support of everyone that can help...so that we can help those afflicted have better outcomes...just a few short years ago death was certain and fast....today ...those diagnosed with GIST stand a chance...but it's not enough....we need to turn chance into certainty...I am very closely affected by this disease and would greatly appreciate any contributions that you could make towards this cause. Its been 2 years since we jumped in the Life Raft and though we don't like the ride the company we keep and the information made available through this medium makes the ride worthwhile.
We had never even heard of this type of cancer before Jess was diagnosed almost 3 years ago. She is on her 4th drug now and stable. We need more money for research to find the cure. Please find it in your heart to help.
Info and help for people with GIST - a rarish type of cancer which Wendy has. There are only a couple of drugs available at this time to help these patients so more research and help is badly needed.
