The Little Copenhagen Mermaid.
When I was young and Santa old
And children did as they were told
I’d gaze at fish a-cycling along the Milky Way
Behind them pigs would loop the loop
As scented breezes cooled my soup
And elephants, both white and pink, a-whistling would play;
In rhubarb trees they’d build their nests,
As politicians combed their crests
While working for ‘The Populus’ throughout the live-long day.
Now Candy mountains, butter too,
Have dropped us in the Irish stew
And wine lakes, shining shore to shore, tempt us to sail away
From truth, responsibility,
And wise but dull maturity,
Straight to the sirens call are we drawn closer every day.
In pea-green boats upon a lake
of lucozade our thirst we slake
while breathing clouds of candy-floss the golden geese will lay
then we will gorge on golden eggs
as we bestride the world on legs
made out of malted-whisky kegs we flew down from Strathspey.
And foaming ‘champers’ at the mouth
We’ll strip the world from north to south
And calling Truth a blabbermouth, we’ll sing, “Calloo, Callay.”
And then the dreaded Jabberwock,
we’ll meet before we’ve taken stock
that nothing is there left to hock to pay the pipes to play
and nonsense will the last word be
at parties where the mushroom tea
is brewed by madder hats than we. Let’s desperately pray!

We here at Wildlife Alliance would like thank everyone who supported us through GlobalGiving and have helped us receive a permanent spot on GlobalGiving's site! Thanks to your generous donations, we will be able to reach and educate more people about our efforts in South East Asia and Russian Far East.
Updated: The cause has raised $1,000.
Thanks to 17 great donors who've given $1305 for rescued wildlife! You can help too... http://globalgiving.org/projects/wild...
Dear all,
Thank you for your support of Wildlife Alliance. We wanted to let you know about an exciting opportunity that we are participating in through our partner, GlobalGiving.
From November 24 - December 21, we are competing to earn a spot on the GlobalGiving website, and earn up to US $6,000 from GlobalGiving by being one of the top fundraisers in the Global Open Challenge.
The organization with the greatest number of individual donations will get $3,000, and a separate $3,000 prize will go to the project raising the most money. The second and third place runners up for both achievements will get $2,000 and $1,000 respectively.
This is our opportunity to try the fundraising tools and services that GlobalGiving offers to organizations like ours. In order to keep our project on GlobalGiving longer term, and use their website for ongoing fundraising, we need to raise a minimum of US $4,000 from at least 50 unique donors during the Challenge.
Please visit our GlobalGiving site at http://www.globalgiving.com/projects/...
You can also help us succeed by spreading the word! Please pass this along to your friends and family and ask them to tell others.
Again our sincere thanks for your support and all you have done for Wildlife Alliance.
Thank you,
Nadia Miller

Forward this to anyone you know who can spread the message around and do something constructive about the appalling illegal logging crisis happening in Madagascar's rainforest national parks...http://www.illegal-logging.info/item_...
Precious trees pay off – but who pays?
Source: www.illegal-logging.info
This 'poster' documents the results of the political fallout in Madagascar during 2009 in terms of the devastation caused to the country's wildlife and flora. A recent government decree permits exportation of illegally-logged rosewood, thereby effectively legalizing illegality. ...
Host a viewing party for "100 Heartbeats" on November 22nd
On November 22, 2009, MSNBC will debut 100 Heartbeats with Jeff Corwin, a new documentary featuring species on the brink of extinction and the efforts made to protect them. The series, part of MSNBC’s “Future Earth” series, will feature extensive footage filmed with Wildlife Alliance in Cambodia, including wildlife rescue and rehabilitation programs with elephants and clouded leopards, as well as forest rangers trying to preserve some of Asia’s largest standing rainforests.
Corwin also filmed in Sumatra, Namibia, Panama, and elsewhere, spotlighting the heroes working to save some of the planet’s most beautiful and threatened species -- including Wildlife Alliance's forest rangers and wildlife rescue specialists.
Sneak previews of 100 Heartbeats are available at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29840099/...
We are urging our supporters in the U.S. and Canada to host special viewing parties for friends and family members, to share your appreciation for our efforts saving wildlife and forests in Asia!

* (optional) Information to request donations – we will provide return mailers and information on tax-deductibility, etc.

* Tell your friends about your interest in our mission!
Thank you for your support and for being ambassadors for our efforts!
It is IMPORTANT to consider desertification as a cause for climate change. It is not only about less CO2 emission and changing type of energy.Trees are important for climate balance creating shade, holding humidity, purifying the air/ CO2.Many lands are built, many buildings, less forests,a desert like for the Earth.Desert is hot during the day, cold at night.Very unbalanced.I wish that planting trees becomes a goal for all Governments and all of us as well as protecting our forests.
