Stop the Privatization of Bala Falls

Ontario is rich in renewable energy opportunities. These opportunities need to be assessed in a fair and transparent manner with a view to providing benefits for all Ontarians especially those living in the impacted community.

Privatization of these opportunities is not the way to go. Bala Falls is just the tip of the iceberg. Ontario has hundreds of similar sites worth billions of dollars. All options, impacts and potential benefits must be fully assessed in order to determine if commercial proposals are needed.

Ontario needs to reconsider the way these opportunities are assessed by providing local control, local decision and local benefit.

Please contact your MPP. Ask them to stop the privatization of Bala Falls and let Bala Energy Co-op finish the work of assessing this opportunity.
