About
to respond to the HIV/AIDS pandemic that is devastating the continent of Africa. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Oceans of Mercy, Inc is a non-denominational Christian organization dedicated to meeting the needs of people regardless of their race, religion, gender, socio-economic status or physical disability.
Oceans of Mercy, Inc. was established in 2002 as an USA-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to respond to the growing HIV/AIDS pandemic in South Africa. A diverse group of Americans with the heart to help the citizens of South Africa formed a Board of Directors to initiate operations, create an infrastructure and facilitate fund raising events for the organization. Oceans of Mercy, Inc. is dedicated to help turn the tide against AIDS and poverty in South Africa. Through the development of a multi-purpose campus called the Oceans of Mercy Children's Village (OMCV), the organization promotes a holistic approach to social and physical development where people will be empowered from the moment they enter the campus.
The Oceans of Mercy Board of Directors has identified existing government projects and non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) to promote partnership for the completion of the mission statement in three areas:
* Caring for Orphans and other Vulnerable Children (OVC)
* Providing AIDS Intervention/Life-Skills training for People Living with AIDS (PLWA)
* Basic Education and Job Skills Training.
1. Providing caring homes for AIDS orphans.
2. AIDS intervention and Life Skills training.
3. Skills training and employment creation.
