Founded in 1987 as CompuMentor, nonprofit TechSoup.org (www.techsoup.org)
is working towards a day when every social benefit organization on the planet
has access to the resources they need to fulfill their mission.
Located in San
Francisco, TechSoup.org is a 501(c)3 nonprofit which provides
technology tools and education through its global network of capacity-building
NGOs which manage product donations to more than 80,000 organizations in 24
countries. This product donations program in the U.S. and around the world has
enabled organizations to save over $1.2 billion in expenses as of September 2008. (See

TechSoup Stock (www.techsoup.org/stock) offers donations of
the latest software and refurbished Green hardware for as little as 5% of
retail cost. To qualify, organizations must be a 501(c)3 or a library.
TechSoup.org’s Content and Community (www.techsoup.org) offers
free articles, community forums, blogs and training webinars providing basic
and advanced tech education.
TechSoup.org’s NetSquared (www.netsquared.org) and Nonprofit
Second Life (www.nonprofitcommons.org) spur responsible adoption of new social
web tools — blogs, wikis, RSS feeds, podcasting, new mobile phone applications,
Twitter — to collaborate, share information and mobilize support.
