My daughter's stalking started about 6 months ago but was bubbling below the surface for a long time before that. Two girls took a liking to her fiance and started the comments on facebook. We found them by chance and asked them to stop - politely, may I add - something they did not deserve.. From there it went to other sites and just got worse. They are very computer literate so started affecting other computers including ours and started texting her and emailing her. Then physical threats started and inviting others to join in to harm them. Her basic requests to stop - without threat - resulted in more posts about my daughter being psychotic and her fiance being involved in some pretty bad stuff... It was very cleverly done and made to look as though these girls knew her fiance well. Poor guy doesn't use the computer and was oblivious to it all. The thing is my daughter has been fighting an illness for 2 years and was in remission - this has set her back - even telling facebook AND the owners of the pages affected that she is unwell again and dropped weight to a dangerous point requiring medical care isn't enough!!!! I have had enough but these girls haven't. They are permitted to block us but go on with their slander - including personal things about both my daughter and her fiance - all lies but you know the old saying 'throw enough mud and some of it sticks'..... I want to know why facebook can't be bothered doing anything about it? How many people suicide are killed or die anyway from this rubbish? The joke about it all is that on some threads on different sites the situation was manipulated with their prowess - to remove our requests and responses - to be followed up with clever twisting of our words - crying that they are being stalked by this 'psycho in Australia' who wont leave them alone!!!! The msot amazing part was that they started accusing her of posing as somebody else to threaten them and harrass them. The poor girl hasn't been able to do anything apart from survive - I would know, believe me, if she were doing such a thing as we share the computer.... Facebook has a lot to answer for, when members can stalk others, and block the same victims from doing anything about it.

Update: Let's continue to recruit people to this group and try to get folks from across the country to join in. I'd like everyone to submit letters in January as part of Stalking Awareness Month. So keep on recruiting and discussing - thanks!!

Who let Becky in here? Here's a better idea if you dont want people to see it dont put it on the internet. Lets target the real issue, we are on facebook...
P.S. Becky, you've been added to my stalking list

Facebook has begun selling user information. They call it the "Facebook Development Platform." To restrict use of your information, do the following:
Click "My Privacy" on the left.
Click "Edit Settings" under the "Everyone" section.
Scroll down to the bottom and uncheck "My information may be used according to the restricted Terms of Service."
(Do your friends a favor and repost this as your own note.)
Yeah so after a lot of legal bs and disclaimers, the facebook basically sells out all your info and will not be held liable if your info is misused by the "developers". So go and uncheck that box at the bottom of the page

I love this new feature. I enjoy stalking. It's a very relaxing and enjoyable hobby. So what if I turn out like John Karr, at least he's famous now. I love facebook.

My personal information was listed in a profile on Facebook, including that my 74 year old mother was frequently alone, that we had large amounts of money in the house, had guns and drugs in the house, and that our security system didn't work. Then all drug users and criminals were invited to harm us. I have reported this and reported this to facebook and it is still there. I'm frightened.
