On December 5, 1933 -- 75 years ago -- America's leaders had the good sense to put violent gangsters out of business and help our economy by ending the failed experiment of alcohol prohibition.
But we still have our own generation's senseless prohibition, the "war on drugs." Why?

Because drug legalizing cops (and DEA agents, and prison wardens, and judges, and prosecutors, etc.) bring attention and a different angle of credibility of our cause, because LEAP speakers work really hard and travel around giving great presentations, because prohibition doesn't make any sense, and legalization and regulation need to come sooner rather than later for all the people prohibition hurts. And because if not you, then who?
