CARE was established in 1998 for the dual purpose of rescuing abandoned dogs and cats facing euthanasia as well as to provide programs to help people get their pets sterilized. From a group of 4 initial volunteers, CARE has grown to the point where hundreds of volunteers devote thousands of hours to our rescue and spay-neuter operations. Since CARE does not have a shelter facility, they use a website as a virtual shelter where you can view pets available for adoption and submit an adoption application on line. To view adoptable pets, visit CARE online at www.careforanimals.org. Adoptable pets are available to meet you every Saturday at CARE Headquarters in Little Rock beginning at 10 AM. For more information, call 501-603-CARE.
CARE currently hosts monthly free spay-neuter clinics for limited income residents at its spay-neuter facility located on the grounds of the Little Rock Animal Shelter. CARE also provides grants to pet owners to help sterilize their companion dogs as well as CATSNIP grants for cats. Finally, CARE assists people adopting shelter pets with sterilization costs through our Rescue Sterilization Voucher Program (RSVP). If you are interested in more information about our clinics or grants or can volunteer your time to help with our spay-neuter efforts, please call CARE at 501-603-2273 or email us at clinic@careforanimals.org.
Since the inception of it's spay and neuter program, CARE has provided over 5,500 free sterilizations for pets from low income families through its free spay/neuter clinics, provided sterilization for 500 feral cats, and assisted in the rescue of over 2,300 dogs and cats which have been sterilized.
The success of the CARE program depends on the generosity and compassion of dog and cat lovers! The smallest donation will make a huge difference in the life of a rescued animal or an animal being sterilized at CARE’s free clinics! Thank you in advance for your support!
