About Help NPCA Protect Our National Parks!

From Yosemite to Gettysburg, from Olympic to the Grand Canyon, the 392 park units contain some of our highest peaks, deepest gorges, and the most hallowed halls of democracy. Places like this demand extraordinary commitment, the kind that the nonprofit National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) has been making for nearly a century.
The National Parks Conservation Association is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization working with you to protect and enhance our national parks in time for their 100th anniversary, and to preserve these magnificent places for our children and grandchildren to enjoy.
In recent years, NPCA has secured important victories for the parks by…
* persuading Congress and the President to boost the Park Service budget by hundreds of millions of dollars,
* preventing a casino from being constructed adjacent to Gettysburg National Cemetery in Pennsylvania,
* protecting grizzly bears on land adjacent to Katmai National Park in Alaska, and
* securing funds and coordinating volunteers to repair flood damage in Olympic and Mt. Rainier National Parks in Washington.

1. Our national parks protect some of America’s most significant landmarks and landscapes.

2. Chronic federal funding shortfalls have put national parks at risk

3. It's tragic when we see our heritage neglected and our parklands threatened with development.
