History prior to Haiti:
On September 1, 2008, Hurricane Gustav made landfall on Louisiana's coast and caused widespread damage across the state.
This cause was part of the reason that Convoy of Hope was able to invest more than 2 million dollars in relief in the Gulf Regions. In fact, Convoy of Hope continues to return and rebuild the gulf coast.
Now, Convoy of Hope is responding with full force in Haiti to needs of a people stricken by a massive 7.0 Earthquake. Kevin Rose, country director in Haiti to Convoy of Hope was in Haiti during the quake. Thankfully his life was spared and he began responding immediately.
Upon word of the quake Convoy of Hope teams were equipped and sent to help Kevin and others to distribute food and water from their warehouse in country. Within one week of the quake, Convoy of Hope teams had already distributed 200,000 meals.
However, much of this food came from their warehouse that had been recently filled to help feed 7,000 children daily. Convoy of Hope needs our help as they continue to respond to this disaster and continue to feed thousands of children every day.
